HR1444 = Violates 13th Amendment, mandatory service: PASSED.
HR 450 = To require Congress to specify the source of authority under the United States Constitution for the enactment of laws: SCUTTLED.
Gee. Which one would any sane person think should pass? Which one DID pass? If you are aware that the mandatory service/Hitler Youth bill was the one that passed, you are following the perfidy of Congress very well these days. As for HR 450: Nancy Pelosi, ever true to her tawdry image, scuttled it by sending it off to the Judiciary Committee for an unspecified amount of time...in other words--she killed it. We should all call our Reps and let them know they MUST petition for it to be passed, if indeed any of them listens these days. For all intents and purposes, however, it appears that they do not, as I have not recently heard of any satisfactory response to a constituent from any government official or politician. Given that, against the approval of 99% of the American people, they passed both the Bailout bill and the Slave bill, it is not prudent to think that petitioning them on such a small matter as adherence to the Constitution would give them any cause to respond other than send inane form letters and do what they please.

A BILL To require Congress to specify the source of authority under the United States Constitution for the enactment of laws, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ‘Enumerated Powers Act’.
SEC. 2. SPECIFICATION OF CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY FOR ENACTMENT OF LAW.

(a) Constitutional Authority for This Act- This Act is enacted pursuant to the power granted Congress under article I, section 8, clause 18, of the United States Constitution and the power granted to each House of Congress under article I, section 5, clause 2, of the United States Constitution.
(b) Constitutional Authority Statement Required- Chapter 2 of title 1, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 102 the following new section:
‘Sec. 102a. Constitutional authority clause
‘Each Act of Congress shall contain a concise and definite statement of the constitutional authority relied upon for the enactment of each portion of that Act. The failure to comply with this section shall give rise to a point of order in either House of Congress. The availability of this point of order does not affect any other available relief.’
(c) Clerical Amendment- The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 2 of title 1, United States Code, is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 102 the following new item:
‘102a. Constitutional authority clause.’

Well, that about says it all as far as Congress goes. The ONE bill that MIGHT have shed a ray of hope into our hearts has been scuttled by Nancy Pelosi. God forbid Congress should have to be accountable to the point that they adhere to the Constitution when they introduce and pass bills. Clearly, Nancy & Co., know all too well that NOTHING they have done would pass muster under our Constitution, so the only way around THAT is to scuttle any bill that tries to mandate that our laws abide by it. It would be laughable if it werent' so terribly sad and frightening. Well...the People are marching...and the tumbrils roll. Proceed against the Constitution at your own peril, Congress...or whoever you are...

As members of Congress arrive today to be sworn in [with the glaring exceptions of Illinois's Roland Burris, soon-to-be-former Governor Blagojevich's last ditch appointee, and Minnesota's Al Franken, who, on the bazillionth recount, finally managed to get a win], the inner confines of the Beltway are abuzz with self congratulatory drama and attendant gaggles of adoring fans and family.

But amidst all this fanfare, as usual, media remains disgracefully mute. At the risk of going into the long list of facts ad nauseum, suffice to say that indeed the list is long, detailed and substantiated by documents obtained via the FOIA, public record, and common sense deduction from indisputable facts, eg., since a Natural Born Citizen can only qualify as such by virtue of having TWO American citizens as parents, it does NOT matter where Mr. Soetoro/Obama was born or where his birth certificate is, although it would be prudent to at least HAVE a valid one. He could have been born in a manger at Blair House but his parents were unable to confer Natural Born status upon him because his father was a foreign national and his mother was too young to have lived 5 years past the age of majority in the U.S., even if she had not been traveling all over the place. No one he is connected to and nothing he does ever seems to have grounding in any kind of solid fact. Both he and his office state unequivocably that they have "had no contact" with Illinois Governor Blagojevich, and yet Judicial Watch, an organization whose stated purpose is "Promoting Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in Government, Politics and the Law" has, through the FOIA, obtained documents indicative of ongoing contact between Obama, Blagojevich and the transition team:

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the office of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich through the Freedom of Information Act related to Blagojevich's contacts with President-elect Obama and his transition team. The documents include a December 3, 2008, letter from Barack Obama following his December 2, 2008, meeting with Blagojevich as well as a November 17, 2008, letter signed by Presidential Transition Team co-chairs Valerie Jarrett and John Podesta providing Blagojevich with a list of transition team contacts.

The following are excerpts from the letter signed by President-elect Obama on December 3, 2008, less than one week before authorities arrested Blagojevich for attempting to "sell" Obama’s now-vacant Senate seat, among other corruption charges:

• "Thank you for meeting with me on Tuesday in Philadelphia. Vice President-elect Joe Biden and I were pleased with the open discussion."
• "As we discussed, I would appreciate any advice you can provide to me and my team on the biggest roadblocks to states in moving forward in ‘getting ready to go' projects started quickly."
• "In addition, I welcome any advice you can provide me and my team on revitalizing and reinvigorating the state-federal partnership. I want to make it a priority of my Administration to work closely with you."
• "I look forward to working with you and hitting the ground running on January 20th."

The November 17, 2008, letter signed by Jarrett and Podesta states:

"On behalf of President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden we want you to know of our strong interest in working with you in the months to come. As you may know we have formed a Presidential Transition Team so that the new Administration will be prepared to confront the extraordinary challenges facing our country. Your leadership and experience will be invaluable in this effort and we hope you will not hesitate to share your insights during this process."

"These documents tend to undermine Obama's claims that he had no contact with Blagojevich and suggest his transition is hiding documents about such contacts," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "Why did President-elect Obama not release this letter? What else is he hiding?"

And, not to be outdone, another dose of Pelosi-style workings was revealed yesterday: she

"plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Meanwhile, back in the real world, the U.S. Supreme Court has two conferences scheduled on Berg lawsuits, and awaits yet another one. Nearly twenty cases have been filed, countless searches performed, and STILL no one has been able to locate ANY authentic records pertaining to any aspect Mr. Soetoro/Obama's life, and, due to the endless list of ignominious characters with whom he has aligned himself, he is unable to pass even the most basic routine security clearance background check performed for police, FBI and other security employment. Web pages have been scrubbed so assiduously that it is now mandatory standard operating procedure for researchers to immediately take and save screen shots to prevent loss of material from daily scrubs.

And, all the while, the rest of the world stands by aghast, not knowing whether to gag or guffaw, probably doing a bit of both. In the meantime, life goes on in these United States--albeit with fear and trepidation--while patriots, both natural born and naturalized, fight to protect our Constitution and expose the truth about the chimera that has drifted up from places unknown like so much swirling smoke. Had American media done its job, none of this would be necessary. As it is, patriots everywhere are working day and night to ferret out fact, expose fiction, capture the truth and save our country from the cloud of confusion that has descended over our political system.

What Now and What's Next?

Summer is SO not here any longer in the Northeast--cool nights, brisk days and dying plants provide the backdrop and, perhaps a metaphor for the '08 presidential election campaign, now in full swing. In an attempt to circumvent some of the mendacity that main stream media continues to hurl at us, I find solace in the vast army of brilliant bloggers who manage to integrate news, truth and the true pulse of Centrist America. Today finds me greatly moved by Petunia Politik's deeply resonant assessment, which describes my feelings, and doubtless those of most of us, to a fault:

So...what are we going to do about it and what have we done so far? Well, in just just ten weeks, we formed the PUMA coalition, reperesenting over 230 groups who stood up and Just Said NO DEAL to the DNC and its hand selected nominee [you know...the one who LOST the primary race]. We blogged, conferenced, mobilized, organized and made our presence known far and wide as we lobbied for Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic nominee. We signed petitions and got her into the nomination process in Denver over strenuous objection from DNC leaders while receiving worldwide attention in the news. We championed the 88th anniversary of women's right to vote and made it clear that, like those brave suffragettes before us, we would not just be quiet and get in line. We created a vast network of unity from incredibly diverse backgrounds that far surpassed that which remained in the shreds of a Democratic party torn asunder by DNC refusal to listen to its electorate, and we continue to grow ever larger as we commit to our long term goals of media and election reform.

We are now in Phase III of our commitment to these goals: We actively continue our work, and, in addition to all of the above, dedicate ourselves to the following ongoing solutions:
